Marcella Samora is the mother of late pop sensation Selena Quintanilla and was born on July 17, 1944, in the United States of America. Besides this, Marcella is also a famous social worker and currently operates The Selena Foundation.

Parents

Marcella was born and brought up in the United States. She was born to a Texan father and Coloradan mother and is of Mexican and Cherokee descent. Her parents' names are still not available yet; however, her father was originally from Amarillo, Texas, while her mother was a Colorado native.

Marcella is a graduate, but her further educational credentials are still under a cloud.

Marcella Samora is a social worker and currently operates The Selena Foundation, which is named after her third daughter Selena.  However, she has kept her profile very low and hasn't disclosed much about her personal life, she came into the limelight mainly due to her husband and daughter's fame.

Marcella is married to Abraham, who was drafted into the military in October 1961. While she was in Washington, Abraham was serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, near Tacoma. Eventually, they started dating and finally shared their wedding vows on June 8, 1963.  Abraham is a renowned artist and an American singer-songwriter, as well as a record producer. 

Children

They have three children together. she gave birth to a baby boy as their first child and named Abraham Isaac Quintanilla III. Then again, on June 29, 1967, they were blessed with another child as their eldest daughter, Suzette Michelle.

Her third child's name is Selena Quintanilla. Selena became a renowned American singer, songwriter, spokesperson, businesswoman, model, actress, and fashion designer.  She was also widely known as the “Queen of Tejano music.”  Unfortunately, Selena is no more with us now.

She was murdered with a gunshot at her back by Yolanda Saldivar.

Health Update - Is she Alive

Marcella Samora was once diagnosed with a tumor. She was informed that she must have an immediate operation to remove it. But, before undergoing the procedure, the couple decided to do a recheck with a different doctor.

Then, the second doctor told them that she was actually pregnant and would be having a second son, but Marcella gave birth to a daughter at Freeport Community Hospital. Then, one of her roommates there recommended the name “Selena”  for her third child.

Marcella Samora is in a well health condition and still alive to date.
